Ivanka Trump & The United Nations Foundation Support The Girl Fund

On top of Trump Park Avenue in New York City, Ivanka Trump & The United Nations Foundation invited guests to preview the "Girl Up" campgain. It's an effort to improve the lives of girls globally - especially in impoverished nations. Ivanka and Jared Kushner, Donald Trump, and members of the United Nations Foundation gathered at the gala with many special guests. Atlantic Records Recording artist, Little Boots performed music from her brand new CD.

Ivanka Trump & The United Nations Foundation Girl Up Campaign

Last night was a beautiful evening filled with family and friends who came to support my new role as a spokesperson for the United Nations Girl Up! Campaign. I'll be speaking on their behalf, tweeting and blogging about it, and visiting some of the countries where young girls need most help. We'll launch a special piece to raise funds for the campaign's efforts. Check out this video from last night's event!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

In the spirit of the holiday, I wanted to share with you one of my favorite recipes, Butternut Squash Soup.  This dish is filled with sweetness, a wonderful aroma, and vibrant colors that are perfect for the dinner table.  Enjoy the dish and all the celebrations it brings with it.


1 medium onion, minced
2 pounds prepared peeled, cubed butternut squash
6 cups water
1 canned coconut milk
1/2 cup white wine
2 garlic cloves chopped or 2 frozen crushed garlic cubes
1 tablespoon fresh grated ginger or 1 teaspoon of ginger powder
1 teaspoon curry powder
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon Kosher salt

Place all ingredients in a 6 quart stockpot, cover and bring to boil.  Reduce to simmer and cook covered for 30 to 40 minutes until squash is soft.  Use a potato masher or fork to mash the squash and continue to cook for 10 minutes

Ladle in bowls and serve.

****I also likes to either sprinkle spicy roasted pumpkin seeds on top or serve on the side.****
